Vauth-Sagel welcomes bright young minds

Ready, set, go for a career made in Germany

Erkeln, 04/08/2022 The subject of training is held in high regard at Vauth-Sagel, so it was a momentous occasion for all involved to welcome a new cohort of trainees to the company this year. Following the success of last year’s trainee day, the decision was made to dedicate three full days to the new generation at the Erkeln site, offering them the best possible opportunity to get to know their new working environment and colleagues. “By providing such a comprehensive training program, we want to do everything we can to appeal to young people and give them the chance to find their feet in a future-oriented profession,” emphasize representatives of the management and the relevant heads of department. As many as 24 new recruits are embarking on their training with the Vauth-Sagel Group this year, laying the foundations for a career made in Germany.

After a brief welcome in the showroom and an overview of the schedule, an extensive round of introductions was on the agenda for the new trainees on their first day. It wasn’t just a case of introducing the company as a whole and the training team, either – it was also an opportunity for past and present trainees to get to know each other better. Even company founder ‘Senior’ Heinrich Sagel got in on the action to meet the newcomers and share his guiding motto that: “A happy mindset is key to accomplishing anything”. This was all followed by an introduction to the business processes before the trainees were split up to complete some group work, which saw them delve into the company’s product range for the first time and even demonstrate their installation skills. The busy first day was rounded off with factory tours at both the Erkeln and Beverungen sites.

Paderborn was the venue for the trainees on day two, where there they got an insight into the individual production steps and the organizational processes within the Group. The third and final day was dedicated to the Korbach site, involving a guided tour of the plant and a safety briefing that will be important for their day-to-day work in the future.

The trainee days were initiated by Regina Kraft and Eduard Schmidt, training managers for commercial and industrial trainees respectively. Both agree that an apprenticeship at Vauth-Sagel offers outstanding added value. This year, 24 young people are starting their training in the family-owned company at the Brakel-Erkeln, Beverungen, Paderborn and Korbach sites, including industrial managers, mechatronics technicians and warehouse specialists. But all this represents just a fraction of the apprenticeships that Vauth-Sagel has to offer for career 

starters, with the company training apprentices and students in as many as 13 apprenticeships and three dual courses of study. Like many companies, Vauth-Sagel is also feeling the shortage of skilled workers and trainees throughout Germany. This is why it is all the more proud to have succeeded in filling almost all vacant apprenticeship positions. What’s more, in a bid to draw more attention to Vauth-Sagel as an attractive employer and training company in the region going forward, the company is launching its new training brochure to coincide with the start of the training program. “We continue to develop year on year and never stop working on our training standards. Our new brochure is intended to show that we are very much keeping up with the times here at Vauth-Sagel,” explains Managing Director Thomas Sagel.
