Vauth-Sagel supports the "Plant-for-the-Planet" initiative

We have signed a contract that sets out an extraordinary commitment on a significant scale to a globally unique initiative: "Plant-for-the-Planet" has the goal of planting 1,000 billion new trees around the world by 2030. A first cooperation already came about at the leading international trade fair "interzum 2021".

We have been supporting "Plant-for-the-Planet" for two years now and have currently planted over 14,000 trees. We use our trade fairs, for example, to further increase the number of trees. We plant a tree for every visitor to our trade fair stands.

Now we have taken our commitment to the next level. We have decided to plant 100,000 trees over the next 3 years. The idea fits perfectly with an important cornerstone of our corporate philosophy. Sustainability has not only been an important aspiration since the company was founded in 1962, but a matter of course.

"Sustainability is increasingly influencing daily decisions. Because together with the target-oriented product development and the forward-looking corporate policy, the conscious treatment of people and the environment is one of the Vauth-Sagel pillars of success."

Managing Director Claus Sagel.

What is Plant-for-the-Planet?

Plant-for-the-Planet is a unique initiative with Felix Finkbeiner (23) at the helm. As a 9-year-old, he drew up his vision during a school presentation to plant one million trees in every country on earth. This gave birth to the Trillion Tree Campaign. To date, over 91,000 children from 75 countries have joined Felix's idea and are involved as ambassadors for climate justice with Plant-for-the-Planet. A specially developed app helps them to finance trees through donations.
Because: trees bind CO2 cheaply and effectively. Even a single tree binds up to 10 kg of CO2 annually! A large reforestation project can therefore help to mitigate the climate crisis.
On the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico, Plant-for-the-Planet has therefore been planting trees on 22,500 hectares and the foundation's own reforestation area since 2015. More than six million trees have already been planted and since the 2020 planting season, up to 20,000 new trees are being added every day.

Where are trees planted?

Plant-for-the-Planet plants the trees on the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. The plantings on the foundation's own land are scientifically monitored by the Crowther Lab at ETH Zurich. In addition, Vauth-Sagel is also planning its own plantations in other countries and will conduct academies to turn children and young people into ambassadors for kilma conservation. Trees will also be planted in the course of these academies.

How many trees have we already planted?

In order to always be exactly on the status of the planted trees, we installed a tree counter. This will show to the day how many trees have already been planted with our support.
